SRS Labs (News - Alert), a provider of surround sound, audio and voice technologies, announced that the company has implemented its TruMedia on Samsung’s (News - Alert) S5PC110 application processor, in order to facilitate three-dimensional audio capability on mobile handset. This implementation in-turn will further enhance the consumer mobile entertainment experience on S5PC110 embedded devices.
According to a press release, Samsung Electronics’ System LSI division ported SRS Labs’ advanced mobile audio solution, TruMedia, on to its new S5PC110 application processor for advanced mobile devices, in order to deliver high-quality multimedia experience on a mobile phone. With the help of SRS TruMedia, Samsung is now able to deliver high-quality home theater experience on mobile phones.
Tailored for mobile phones, portable media devices, Bluetooth headphones and gaming consoles, SRS Labs’ TruMedia suite is based on a modular platform. It helps in restoring a more natural-sounding audio and offers processed audio for high-quality entertainment, such as immersive 3D audio, improved bass, high frequency clarity, and surround-sound over headphones.
In addition, SRS Labs officials said that the TruMedia is specifically tuned for every single make and model of mobile phone that is utilizing the solution. In other words, every device is tuned deliberately and precisely. With this, OEM partners can precisely tune the TruMedia suite for optimal audio performance on every mobile phone make and model.
According to Allen H. Gharapetian, vice president of marketing for SRS Labs, Samsung’s S5PC110 application processor is a truly extraordinary piece of hardware that’s capable of producing pristine 1080p video, and with the addition of SRS TruMedia audio suite, handset manufacturers now have all the necessary tools for delivering the most complete entertainment experience possible on a mobile device.
The company’s S5PC110 is a 1GHz ARM (News - Alert) CORTEX-A8 based application processor with NEON architecture. It is fabricated on low power 45nm technology to provide longer battery life for mobile devices.
According to Yiwan Wong, vice president, System LSI marketing, Samsung Electronics, the company’s S5PC110 application processor was specifically designed for high performance multimedia processing at low power consumption - for mobile handset and other portable devices.
SRS Labs’ surround sound solutions offer professional broadcast and recording industries with high-performance production, back-haul, storage, and transmission capability.
