Qwest Communications Introduces Nationwide Wireless Calling in Keokuk and Mason City; New Plans Offer Customers Greater Flexibility and Choice with Wireless Calling Across the United States

DES MOINES, Iowa --(Business Wire)-- May 31, 2005 -- Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q) today announced expanded availability of its nationwide wireless service to residential and small-business customers in Keokuk and Mason City, Iowa. For the first time, residents can choose Qwest Wireless for competitive national service plans.

Qwest's nationwide calling plans start as low as $39.99 for 500 weekday minutes, with free calls to the Qwest home phone on the account, and a discount when customers combine an eligible wireless plan with a qualifying Home Phone Package on a single bill. Qwest offers the latest in wireless camera-phones, streaming multi-media and video phones as well as phones with Ready Link push-to-talk capabilities.

"Customers in Iowa continue to show a preference for choosing one provider for all their communications services," said Max Phillips, Qwest president for Iowa. "By adding nationwide wireless calling to the Qwest bundle, customers in Keokuk and Mason City can take advantage of competitive prices for all their communications needs, including wireless, high-speed Internet, long-distance and local service."

Qwest nationwide plans with 500 minutes or more include the following exclusive features at no extra charge for customers who have Qwest home phone service:

-- Free Calls - Residential customers often use wireless minutes to call and receive calls from home. When customers combine their Qwest local and Qwest wireless bills, these calls are free. Qwest is the only provider to offer this cost savings to Iowa customers in Qwest local service areas.

-- One Number Service - Customers can use this smart call-forwarding feature to automatically route their home or office calls directly to their wireless phone -- allowing customers to stay connected even when they are on the go.

-- Voice Mail Link - A simple way for customers to integrate their wireless phone with their home or office voice mail. With Qwest Voice Mail Link, any call not answered on a customer's Qwest Wireless phone is directed to the home or office voice mail box, and a message notification is sent to both the home (or office) phone and the wireless phone.

-- Shared Plans - With Qwest's add-a-line feature, both residential and small-business customers have access to competitive shared plans, including free calls between wireless phones on the plan and free calls to and from their Qwest home or office phone (combine bill required to receive free calls to and from the home or office phone).

Qwest Wireless data services, including two-way text-messaging, picture phone e-mail messaging, and downloadable ring-tones and games, are also available. Customers can call 1-800-244-1111 for information on residential wireless service and 1-800-603-6000 for more information on small-business wireless service.
